What Else is Possible?

What Else Is Possible is a newsletter series about my journey driving from Toronto to Argentina with my Partner Alex.

It's humble beginnings started with a small audience made up of friends and family and has now evolved to a growing Substack.

This newsletter lies at the intersection of mental health and travel. Through it, I share essays about both the good days and the bad days on my journey to Ushuaia. The bad days because we struggle much more than we’re often willing to admit—to ourselves and to each other. And the good days to prove their are benefits when we prioritize investing in ourselves.

You can read a limited collection of free essays below, or sign up for the newsletter on Substack as a free subscriber (1 free essay a month) or a paid subscriber (4 essays a month.

Off the Grid

This week we learned… more than we expected.

Equanimity

This week we learnt life is about balance, sometimes all you need is a baby wipe and a bush and that what doesn’t kill you gives you a headache.

Exploring Mexico

This week we learned that you can get good tacos for 1 dollar, small propane tanks do not exist in Mexico and we are not real hippies.

Catching Up

This week we learned that Mexico has a desert, Rusty is not a 4x4, and as the price of beer goes down the price of gas goes up.

Learning, Adapting and Adjusting

This week we learned that when you’re in a grocery store in America people say excuse me instead of sorry, that if you ask “where’s the washroom” they’ll have no idea what you’re talking about, and in LA people speed, and when I say speed I mean SPEED. Take caution if you’re ever on the 710.

Next Stop, America

This week we learned that the hype about cold plunges is real, gut health means good health and that Gabbie is always right.

Slowing Down

This week we learned that it’s easier to breathe in nature, Vancouver indoor climbing is mid and that African Grey parrots are sassy bitches.

Heading West

This week we learned that gas prices in Northern Ontario suck, that contemplating life is better while soaking in a hot tub, beer in hand gazing out into the snowy Albertan peaks, and that Wawa Ontario - hands down - has the best Tim Hortons in the country.
